Director of Resource Development
My name is Erika Kastel, I was born & raised in Mexico City where I managed and directed different programs & organizations. After moving to the United States I shifted my career and found my passion: “Community Development” and started working with different non for profits in the area developing educational programs. I resided in the Hudson Valley for 8 ½ years before moving to Western NY where I worked in Workforce Development before transitioning to United Way.
When I think of United Way, I think of collaborative partnerships and systematic solutions that enhance our community! I enjoy tremendously working with groups with different cultural & ethnic backgrounds as I am fluent in 4 languages. My Parents are my heroes as they have taught me to be kind, determined, giving and persistent throughout my life time.
I am an avid reader, arts & animal lover, I practice yoga, go for hikes & walks and cycle on a regular basis. Enjoy cooking & trying new restaurants.
Spending time with family & friends is my priority, I have one younger brother and my entire family still resides in Mexico, therefore I have a very loving family In-Law in this area. I am very blessed as my son “Max” was born 7 month ago and ever since my life is fascinating!
“I am grateful to live in a free country; I pray for world peace, for human equality and animal welfare and for the ones with good will and high values”.
